An important mission of the Home and School Association is to promote communication between your home and Merritt Memorial School. We usually email our weekly reminders with information on our upcoming events. Since most events will be rescheduled this year, we will occasionally send an update with the most current information. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

As we begin the school year, we are looking for parents to volunteer as a facilitator for your child’s class. Though it’s unclear what this school year will bring, we would still like to have two class facilitators per class (preferably one from each cohort). Initially, they would be a resource for the teachers if needed, with the hope that they could return to more traditional duties if/when school fully reopens.
Class facilitators are critical to the success of the HSA at our school. We rely on Class facilitators to communicate with and inform their teacher and parents about HSA programs and activities. Traditionally, duties include collecting class dues, working with your child’s teacher to plan class parties, send emails to the parents about upcoming events, serve as a chaperone for field trips and assist with putting together class baskets for our annual gala in the spring. Since we did not have the gala last spring, we rescheduled it to April 2021. We currently have items and money collected from last year so we will not be collecting for the class baskets this year. Please keep in mind that these duties will be limited this year.
If you are interested in becoming a class facilitator, please click on the link below and submit the form by Tuesday, Sept 8th, 2020. If you have more than one child, please select your 1st and 2nd choice of the class you would like to represent. We will notify you when all facilitators have been selected and include specific details of your responsibilities for this school year.

Merritt School HSA uses Membership Toolkit for their online directory. Returning users can use the same login information to access their account. New users can create a new account by following the steps below. Once you create a Membership Toolkit Account, you will have access to the Merritt HSA Online Directory. Please note that if you choose to opt out of displaying your information, your child’s name will not appear on the HSA directory class lists. The directory will only be online this year with no printed directories. If you have any questions, please contact the Directory Coordinator, Christine DePalo at firstname.lastname@example.org. To access our HSA Online Directory click here: merrittmemorialhsa.membershiptoolkit.com.
To Create a New Account:
- Select “Create Account” and fill in the name, email, and password information.
- Click “verify my email” and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.
- Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process.
- Complete the Parent/Family and Student Information.
- Complete the Directory/Publish Preferences.
- Download the FREE Membership Toolkit App by clicking on the App Store or Google Play buttons on the bottom of the login page.
Once the Primary Account is set up, the Primary User can “invite” other email addresses to access his/her account. This allows the Secondary User to have their own login information, but still have access to the family account.

Grocery Cards a Win-Win Fundraiser
Finally, a school fundraiser that costs you nothing… and you don’t have to bake either!
The Grocery Gift Card Fundraiser is as easy as doing the grocery shopping. Just purchase a gift card from the HSA for Kings or Stop & Shop and use it to pay for your groceries. Your grocery gift card is just like cash. Dollar for dollar, what you pay for your gift card pays for your groceries (or dog food or shampoo or chocolate bar…). There are no hidden fees. Merritt HSA will earn approximately 5% on the weekly grocery expenditures of everyone who participates. Gift cards will be sold in denominations of $25, $50 and $100. Buy as many as you like. There’s no expiration date. Please email Dianne Lavin at email@example.com or Jennifer Rakovsky at firstname.lastname@example.org to place your order. We will make arrangements to have the grocery cards delivered and payment picked up at the same time. Payment can be made in the form of cash or checks payable to “Merritt HSA.” Please DO NOT send payment in with your child or drop off in the Merritt School main office. We will deliver and pick up payment from you!
Amazon: Merritt Memorial School has partnered up with Amazon’s School Rewards Program to earn FREE MONEY for our school – at no cost to you! Just click our Amazon button at the top and bottom of the HSA website before you start adding items to your cart.
